Il Corso

Welcome to the course "Teaching English in High School: Strategies and Perspectives", an innovative and engaging learning path designed specifically for high school students. Learning a foreign language is not limited to simply memorizing grammatical rules or vocabulary lists; rather, it represents a true window to the world. This course has been structured to guide students on a progressive journey of self-discovery and exploration of the environment around them, providing them with the linguistic tools needed to express opinions, share experiences, and face future challenges with confidence and competence.

The program is divided into four main thematic lessons, each designed to explore topics closely related to students' everyday lives and interests. It begins with an exploration of personal identity and daily routines, then broadens its focus to the world of travel and the discovery of new places and cultures. The course then addresses the highly relevant topic of technology, exploring its impact on the world of work and on our future lives, while encouraging critical thinking and constructive debate. Finally, the last part of the course is dedicated to global citizenship, raising students' awareness of the importance of environmental sustainability and individual choices in protecting our planet.

From a methodological perspective, each lesson integrates vocabulary development, grammar reinforcement, and active practice in a balanced way. Students will have the opportunity to consolidate fundamental language structures—such as present tenses (Simple and Continuous), the difference between the Past Simple and the Present Perfect, the expression of the future using "will" and "be going to," and the use of modal verbs to give advice and express obligations. These rules are not taught in an abstract way, but are applied to real and engaging contexts. Through creative mini-projects, video presentations, group discussions, and debates, students become active participants in their own learning process.

The ultimate goal of this course is to develop aware global citizens, capable of critically reflecting on contemporary dynamics and communicating in English in a dynamic, enjoyable, and deeply educational way.
