Do you want to know the fundamental applications of robotics as an enabling technology? If so, then “Robots in Action" is the right course for you. Robotics is a rapidly evolving science and, at the same time, it is the enabling technology of several applications in challenging scenarios such as medical, space, and marine. This course gives an overview of the most popular 'applications' of robotic systems. You will learn how single or multi-robot robot systems can be used in conjunction with virtual reality and haptics, to enable human–robot interaction scenarios, or operate remotely via networked, cloud and fog robotics architectures. It is known that, besides ground, robots can nowadays operate in aerial, orbital, and underwater contexts, so as to possibly help in search and rescue scenarios. Finally, wearable robots can be leveraged to enable physical rehabilitation which is one of the principal aims in medical robotics. A focus on the ethical, legal, and sociological implications of an increasing robot presence in our society concludes the course.
This course is part of the "Robotics & Robots" Program. If you wish to follow this course, you need to enrol via the Program at this link.
